I have read the subject article on the Counterpunch web site and think you well covered the subject. There is I think, however, another possible explanation as to why Libby lied. Perhaps unbridled hubris, characteristic of the Straussian "philosophers", led Libby to believe he could get away with it. After all he, and many other administration officials, got away with lots of lies in marching the nation to the subjugation of Iraq.
